➜ How to install imagick and gmagick on Ubuntu | Gerd Riesselmann: Notes From the Bog

gmagick

The gmagick extension is not bundled with Ubuntu, so it must be installed manually anyway.

  1. sudo apt-get install graphicsmagick libgraphicsmagick1-dev
  2. sudo pecl install gmagick
  3. Confirm all questions by hitting return
  4. Create file /etc/php/conf.d/gmagick.ini and add a line “extension=gmagick.so”
  5. Reload Apache: sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 reload

➜ node.js - Failed to connect to mongodb in ubuntu? - Stack Overflow

This fixed the problem:

http://www.synchrosinteractive.com/blog/1-software/47-mongodb-repair-on-ubuntu

Apparently mongodb creates a lock file when the database crashes or something. Deleting that file and repairing mongodb fixes the problem:

Manually remove the lockfile: sudo rm /var/lib/mongodb/mongod.lock

Run the repair script: sudo -u mongodb mongod -f /etc/mongodb.conf —repair
